J-POP SOUND CAPSULE’s full lineup has finally been revealed, and the missing pieces were the high-energy, genre-blending band ALI, and legendary composer of global acclaim, Yoko Kanno.
Anime Expo 2025 marked the return of Anisong World Matsuri in the form of J-POP SOUND CAPSULE, an unforgettable live music event for anime and J-Pop fans alike. This year’s iteration of J-POP SOUND CAPSULE builds upon the massive success of the previous year, and with its fully-revealed lineup, Anime Expo attendees are in for the show that cannot be missed.
The full lineup will feature (in alphabetical order):
- ALI blends hip-hop, rock, funk, and jazz into a genre-defying sound, earning global recognition through dynamic performances and anime theme songs including JUJUTSU KAISEN and BEASTARS.
- Roselia brings their signature dark and dramatic sound, born from the multimedia project BanG Dream!, to a powerful live band performance.
- SPYAIR is known for opening themes from Gintama and Haikyuu!!, and has gained widespread popularity with their high-energy rock anthems.
- Yoko Kanno is an internationally acclaimed composer whose genre-crossing works for anime, film, and games including Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Macross Frontier.
- Yoko Takahashi has built a broad fanbase with timeless anime songs, including “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” and “Soul’s Refrain” from NEON GENESIS EVANGELION.
